The properties of Sage & Juniper:

White Sage:

Historically used in indigenous traditions, white sage is believed to help purify a space and dispel negative energy. It has a herbaceous, earthy fragrance. White Sage has been used in Native American ceremonies and rituals for cleansing for hundreds of years, helping to cleanse, purify and protect by dissipating negative energy and spirits. Many cultures use a 'smoke bath' to purify the body, aura and energies, and white sage is often the herb of choice for these. It is also used by healers, to enhance intuition and to connect to the spiritual and psychic realms (White Sage contains thujone, a mild psychoactive which helps induce these states). Burning sage can also help to relieve anxiety, stress and depression whilst boosting concentration and focus.

Juniper:

Juniper is known for its spiritual cleansing, protective, healing, and abundance-attracting properties. It has a woody, slightly peppery scent with hints of citrus. Juniper is often used in aromatherapy to help calm nerves and ease tension, and can help to overcome loneliness and mental exhaustion. It has been used for thousands of years as a way to ward off evil spirits and cleanse a room both spiritually and physically - during the Black Death Juniper smoke was used to protect and purify the air.

USE: Hold the bundle of herbs in the flame of a candle or a lighter. You can also blow gently on the bundle to burn the leaves faster, spread the fire more evenly and release more smoke. Use a fire proof container or shell to catch the ashes and embers.
